Ruby Tuesday

This little fellow landed on our Velux window last week, stayed a few days, then moved on, but not before I caught him! These pictures are taken through the window, and for once there was a bit of blue in the sky! I should have cropped the water drops from the first one to make it less obvious.

  1. Delightful! These leaf shots are fun. Good eye. Love the bits of bubble.

  2. This solitary Maple leaf seems forlorn - or exhilarated at his freedom flight in the sky. The blue sky is a nice backdrop to this artistic ruby fluttering away in peace...

  3. One thing we don't get to enjoy in Southern California is the whole "Four Seasons" thing. We have summer, and then, well... 65 Fahrenheit isn't really winter, is it? So we have an Autumn and Spring, but not with all the color changes in the leaves that it looks like you experience!

  9. I love the way it seems to be sailing through the sky, and the water droplets don't matter a bit.

  14. Lovely shot, Mimi. If you hadn't explained I would have thought you had captured a flying leaf. It doesn't matter that you didn't - the effect is wonderful. I didn't really notice the rain at all.

    Nice catch!

Thank you for your comment about not looking old enough to be a grandmother. :) I was lucky to be able to retire a few years early and I also lucky to get my Mama's genes. She's in her mid 70's and doesn't look it.

  17. Me again - in answer to your question on my quilt barn. A 'trail' was started years ago when a woman painted a pattern on her barn for her mother who quilted. They thought of painting on other peoples barns as a sort of driving trail to bring in tourists. It worked and now there are many National Quilt Trails in many states coast to coast.
I just happen to live in the area where it all started and have seen quite a few. I have another I'll be posting next week.
