We've spent a lot of time indoors this week, and now that the weekend is here, I want a long walk beside the sea.
Spring is definitely in the air, but winter is holding on with all its might too. We're having frost every night, and some (a postman in Donegal who watches traditional weather signs like movement of animals and birds) say that the snow will come back.
So I'm off for that walk now, and hope you're all having a great weekend!
It really wouldn't do for a bird to have a fear of heights, would it?
ReplyDeleteThat is a good picture against that dark sky. I don't think Winter has released her hold just yet. It is noticeably lighter in the evening though, I am thankful for that.

Nuts in May
My mother used to look at a sky like that and declare: "that's enough blue sky to patch a small boy's pants". She would have loved those photos of the birds in the tree, too. As do I. I can feel the fresh air with spring poking around the edges of awareness.
ReplyDeleteHope all that snow doesn't return. Horrible thought! Make the most of a few dry hours too. We've had so much rain here that there's been flooding. I took a walk in a brief bit of sun during the week and am so glad I did.
ReplyDeleteGood job they have wings!! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's a long way down.

Hope that snow stays away - although it does make for pretty pictures :)
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, I do love that sudden urge to get out the door and go for a brisk walk after all that time stuck indoors! Hope it was refreshing and invigorating!
ReplyDeleteI heard the same prediction from Mr. Northern Postman, and can't help feeling he may be right. :-D
beautiful image...sort of puts us humans in our place too, among the grandness of this universe! I found your blog through Zuzana's this morning, so glad I did:)
ReplyDeleteLovely images, I often think the same seeing birds. as a matter of fact I just took a photo of a bird perched way up high today.;)
ReplyDeleteWe are having very much the same weather here, spring really felt in the air today.;) It was so nice.;)
xoxo
Many thanks for your visits !
ReplyDeleteFunny, I was just looking at a pair of magpies at the top of the tree in our backyard this morning, guess they are waiting for spring too...
Oh how I wish I could fly and sit high up in the trees sky bathing!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots Mimi!
We have had snow on the ground all but one day this month and more is on the way this week - maybe heavy snow.
I believe in the postman; the weather was so cold over the weekend, and we had a red sky the other morning which makes me think 'shepherd's warning' - so now I believe in shepherds and postmen! But I love that sky in your photos, the promise of blue peeking out. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely captures! A walk by the sea ..... that sounds so lovely!
