It's been a long week, and I'm so glad it's Friday, moreso than I can remember in a very long time. I've been just about hanging in there! With all the stress of the recent family deaths, my stomach has been playing up again, and I've ended up on medication (again). Even though it's only an acid inhibitor, and I will probably only need it for a few weeks, I hate taking it.
Is anybody else like that?I'm (touching wood!) so healthy that I never even have to take paracetamol, so I shouldn't complain about a few stomach tablets.
I've had to buy a big pillow, which I also hate, and which interferes with my sleep, as does the acid that's still causing pain.
Moan over! It's the weekend and I plan to enjoy it. I'm doing a little shopping tomorrow, band on Sunday morning (another recording coming up soon! some of it is not too challenging, see below!) and on Sunday afternoon I'm meeting up with 3 former colleagues (referred to by my kids as "Mary, Mary and Joan" since they were tiny!) whom I haven't seen for about 5 years. We send Christmas cards to each other, always saying "we will meet up next year", but, finally, we've got it organised! They're great fun and I know I will probably have pains in my side from laughing at/with them.
Can't wait!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
My camera went missing in September, and I searched high up and low down for it, without success. While we were down the country at the funeral, younger daughter was rooting around in the car and found it. These photos were on it, and I needed them to brighten up today!
I have complete empathy with the stomach acid issue. Mine left after about 2 weeks of misery, and exactly on the day I heard a choir singing. Hmm. I'm still scratching my head on that one!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. I hope the memories they trigger for you alleviate a bit of the stress that's consuming your insides.
Yes, indeed, TGIF!
Have a wonderful weekend - you deserve it. Loved that you had such evocative photos still on the camera. That kind of stomach pain is no fun...does it mean no Guinness?
ReplyDeleteI realized from your post that I had somehow missed the previous two. How did that happen? I'm so sorry for all that your family has had to deal with as a new year starts.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great weekend - you deserve one. I too hate taking any form of medication. It makes me mad that these days I have to.
ReplyDeleteI had 3 Irish friends who were ALL called Mary. Had to refer to them by surname initials. :)
@Stephanie- it probably should mean no alcohol (must check re alcohol and meds!) but I'm having a glass of wine on Sunday with the pals, unless Google says no. Don't drink Guinness anyway!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend and have fun!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool the way things show up just when we need them, isn't it? I'm so glad you're getting together with your friends! Sounds like that happened at just the right time too.
ReplyDeleteHi Mimi, I am so glad you found your camera. I have been taken a pill a day to help with problem caused by reflux acid. So if you only have to take some for a bit, it seems better to handle your problem now. Lovely photos, I wish you all the best in 2012, Have a great day. Thanks for the visit too.
ReplyDeleteDear Mimi, I am sorry to hear that you have had some deaths in the family and that this is effecting your well being.:(
ReplyDeleteLove that first image.;)
Hope you had a lovely weekend too and have a great Monday,
xoxo
Hello Mimi!
ReplyDeleteJenny Woolf mentioned you in her latest post, that is how I found you!
My husband has that acid reflux problem too and also has to (try to) sleep on three pillows! It's a bummer.
How happy for you that you found that lost camera! We have built up a super race of squirrels in our backyard from all the sunflowers that they have eaten that were meant for our birds!
Must go to work now, hope to look at your blog properly tonight!
I hope you had a great time with your friends and that your tummy is settling down for you.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a fun weekend, Mimi! I'm the same way with medication. I hate to take it and hardly ever do. I have to be pretty miserable to think about it, so I'm sorry you're in that spot. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteOh Dear Mimi I so hope you are feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteHope the weekend was much fun.
Love that you found your camera!
