Busy time

Things are busy round here!
We had a lovely relaxing Christmas, but since then it's been all go.

Eldest has gone to Berlin to a debating competition; she will be there for 10 days.

Middle Girl is going to Blessington Lakes for a rowing camp next week.

And Son is busy partying! He had a Murder on the Orient Express (paraphnelia bought online!) Thursday night.

So we cleared out for a few hours.

These pics were snapped in the centre where we ate and then went to Pitch Perfect.

I'm knitting a scarf!! It's called Haruha, which apparently is Japanese for Leaf.
Lace knitting is not really my thing, I'm more of a cables girl, but so far it's going ok. The yarn is a beautiful silk/cashmere mix, so it helps that it feels so beautiful in my hands. I will post a pic when it's finished and blocked (not sure what that is, but I'm sure youtube will have some videos!)

  1. Your lace is so pretty. Blocking will make the lace even more beautiful. There's lots of info on the I'net.

Such varied interests for your kids. They all sound very involved and busy. Did your daughter take her warm rowing hat?

Yes, frogging is ripping. So called because we "rip-it, rip-it, rip-it" - like a frog. And Oxford NS is in Nova Scotia.

  5. The scarf is gorgeous! I am in awe of anyone who can knit cable or lace or anything pretty like that. All my knitted items have to be simple and plain. Birdie would enjoy a party like your son had! She loves a mystery!

Your pictures (colourings) are very Christmassy.
Hope you had a lovely time and I wish you a Happy New Year.

  7. Happy New Year Mimi - hope it's a good year for you all. So funny to see Stephanie answering you about frogging here when I commented on it over on her blog! I love your lace, and love doing lacy things even if they can be a bit challenging at times! I've some great lace in my stash from then RDS show and Knitmas secret Santa. Your family sound busy unlike me who's vegging out with books and sock knitting over the long weekend!
