"If you want the rainbow, you gotta also put up with the rain"

I hope I haven't already posted this- found it under "drafts".

I took this picture on my way to work a while back. At a set of red lights (obviously!). It was taken through the windscreen, timed to get between the wiper motions.

I drove right under that rainbow, so glad to have it brighten up my day.

Then later in the afternoon, I let the raindrops build up on the windscreen, to form this image.

Looking at it now, I think it looks like a black-and-white photo, but it was taken in full colour, with the same camera setting as the first shot. Pretty dismal day then.

And one final shot, just to show you that there was a snippet of colour on that street.

I'd love to know who Sheridan is (first image)- there aren't any elections going on here at the moment....I think!

  1. And you didn't try to find the pot of gold?

I love the rainy images...the ordinary cab be quite pretty when it's a bit blurry.

  2. Mimi these shots are so fantastic! I love, love the one that looks like it was shot in black and white. I am sorry that it's still raining, but as you said, you have to put up with the rain to have rainbows. :)

PS I have been trying to look at this post since yesterday. It showed up in my reader, but when I would click into your site it wouldn't show up. I understand now that it finally let me in to see it. Your date is from November, so it didn't post to the top of your blog. If you want it to change (not sure if you do) go back in and change the date under post options to today or yesterday's date. Then more visitors will see your magnificent pictures!

  5. I do love rainbows but see them rarely living in the woods. Great that you were able to drive under it.

  6. Not a more happier sight I don't think than a rainbow!
I love the dismal shots. They do evoke a dark mood but there is a time and a place for that has well.
