Ruby Tuesday

Guess what has come down from the attic?

and along with that, this too made its way down,

and, in the wintry January evenings by the fire, clickety clack, something is being created, and it is almost finished. I love the colours, but the feel of that alpaca is also wonderful. And I had forgotten the satisfaction of feeling something grow between my fingers, something unique, something that is moulded and changed as the mood hits, that I am creator of.

Tomorrow I will post a picture of the finished work, when all the loose ends have been (tied up) darned in.

  1. I love the colors, and alpaca is probably my favorite fiber. It has just the right feel, drape, sheen and stitch definition.

    Happy knitting!

  3. I've not done any knitting for ages! I don't seem to have the time these days. I used to cross-stitch until my fingers bled and my eyes fell out too. I must try and find the time to do something crafty soon.

    I like that turquoise colour!

  5. Oh I love knitting! Just seeing the photos of the needles and the yarn makes me want to start something, not to mention the cold weather that always calls for warm yarn between my fingers.

  6. I have no idea what Ruby Tuesdays (going to check it out) is but the colors of the yarn you have are great. I can't wait to see the finished project to see how they all come together! :D

  8. Oooh, good for you. I'm jealous. I keep saying I'd love to learn to knit but never find the time...

  9. My two-year-old has ruby red slippers that get constant comments when we're out and about. :)

My mother-in-law gave my daugher knitting needles for her birthday and promised to teach her. I'm hopeless with hand-crafts, but I'm excited for my daughter to learn because she's much more gifted in that area than I am. I do feel that wonderful feeling of accomplishment as I write stories, so I can relate to the feeling.
