looks as though it's about to start raining, doesn't it? no, not a day for walking on the pier...but hey, are they bits of blue I see towards the right hand side?

Clockwise Contrasts in Howth
We went for a walk in Howth on Saturday, and couldn't believe the contrast in the sky surrounding us! Standing in the same spot on the pier, just by doing a 360 degree turn, I got all these different images. Not sure if you'll agree with me, but I think some of them could easily be in different countries! So, to start, not a great looking image, swirling dark clouds are not what you like when you're about to walk down a pier!

Oh, thanks for the lovely reminder. That was our experience in Howth: black clouds but we soldiered on and were rewarded with blue sky and sunshine. Howth is such a great walking place.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots of ominous looking clouds!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post despite the dark clouds!
ReplyDeleteSo glad it didn't rain!
ReplyDeleteEven cloudy, the billowing clouds made for a lovely textured sky.
Love the vista in the fourth image.
Hee hee, the clouds were just as beautifully schizophrenic the day we walked on Howth too! Our luck was worse though, it ended up pouring down buckets. Luckily our walk ended straight at the pub next to the station ;).

Beautiful! I love what you did and I love the sentiments. I so recognize these different vistas on the same day, but in different cardinal directions. Denmark has very similar views - thank you for sharing this rugged beauty of your beautiful country with us.;))
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Monday dear Mimi,
xoxo
Those photos are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic skies! and LOVELY too :)
ReplyDeleteYour photos capture the elements so beautifully. I love the big expanse of that clear blue sky. Here in Texas, if you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes and it will change.
ReplyDeleteI adored your photos of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
I love these photos! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteHow I'd love to go back to Ireland. It's been 12 years, but I do have a new passport. Should really put it to good use...
I love the moody looking clouds, great sky shots. It was great you got in a walk before the rain. Have a great weekend and a Happy Easter.
