Pics of our snow

Update: Schools closed today and tomorrow! Yippee! More time for all to enjoy this Winter Wonderland!

The snow has slowed us down, made our lives move in slow motion, made us prioritise our journeys.

"No unnecessary travel" is the mantra.

So instead of a New Year shopping frenzy before the return to school (tomorrow, if weather permits), we're spending time together, calmly looking out at a pure and pristine landscape, undisturbed by the usual rush of daily life.

Sustenance for the soul.

Amen!

What a wonderful start to 2010.

  1. It looks good, Mimi, but that is the only thing going for it.
Blasted snow has caused me a worrying time.

  5. I think that once upon a time people did just that when winter came. Slow down and do the inside stuff that piles up when the garden calls. Spend time together. Sadly, our world doesn't admit that there are seasons any more.
I'm glad you've had a chance to slow down. I'll get that pattern up soon so you can slow down with some knitting before it all melts away.

Thanks for visiting my photoblog. I liked your cute little poem! You asked about my "drawing" image - it was done using Photoshop settings.

  8. My kudos to Hubby - great shots!
The first one is postcard worthy and I love the light captured on the pond in the second one.
