Easter

It's been a busy few days.

We had 10 for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for the past 5 days! Thank God for a dishwasher!

We had 2 birthdays, my sister-in-law's 44th (as you can see from the cake!) on Easter Sunday, and my niece's 7th on Monday. Little hands were busy, crafting, moulding and writing. Thank God for sugar paste!

We went on a few trips- the zoo, museums and

Glendalough.

I was surprised to see so much snow, long after it has melted down with us. Must have been spectacular (and difficult!) at the height of it.

We were blessed with the weather- sunshine, and then the rain began just as we returned to the car! I had forgotten how spectacularly beautiful this place is, and how close it is to Dublin too!

You always learn something when you have visitors to stay!

They've gone back now, and we miss them. It's a quiet house, with only half the occupants.

  1. Oh, Mimi, I think Glendalough is so lovely. Definitely will be on the repeat trip to Ireland list.

And you have had a wonderful time being a tourist at home. I think we all find new and wonderful places when we host visitors. Funny, isn't it?

  3. Belated Happy Birthday's to your sister-in-law and niece!
I love the Easter Egg Tree. I haven't done that since my kids were young.
The roadway with the knarled trees looks like a fairyland. Wish I were there. :)

  6. Were those the hills you can see off in the distance from Dublin? I spent the whole week wondering if I was really seeing snow or not, but I didn't want to look like an idiot and ask if it was just roads or quarries or something.

Your egg tree is so cute, very festive, and how funny that we both shot the same flower stall! It was a stunner, wasn't it?

  7. Nothing like visitors to shake us out of our routines and seeing our little world with new eyes!
And nothing like the quiet afterwards to let you reap the benefits.

    Happy days!
