Recovering

I am still not right since I got this virus.

I went back to work on Monday, because there were a few meetings that I didn't want to miss. Each evening, I've been just relaxing, to gather strength for the next day, but still in a bit of pain with sinuses, still have the vertigo and tinnitus that accompanied that virus.

Then today, two people mentioned that Neurofen is magic for sinus pain, so on my way home I stopped off at the pharmacy and stocked up.
yes! Happy to report it is magic!
So, with a bit of luck and a little more time, I will be fully mended. I hate being sick, and luckily it doesn't happen very often because I'm a terrible patient: totally impatient. I make an even worse nurse! 24 hours, that's it, can't stand any longer!
I have since knitted another two of the Haruha scarf, one for myself and another red one for a friend from school who stood in for me at two events while I was sick. Friends like that are invaluable, and I was thrilled to return with a little gift for her.
I found a small ball of this green alpaca, just enough for a tea cosy for my one-cup teapot. Good match too, though I think it would benefit from a few more crochet flowers. What do you think?

  2. So sorry that you've been ill! It's so hard to be sick and try to go to work. Especially when students are involved--when mine got me sick in the fall, I went to school and breathed right back on them. LOL Hope you're back to good health soon!

  3. Sounds like you really had a bad virus. Hope this is the end of it for you. That cosy is adorable. You must do a lot of knitting. I'm trying to finish some socks right now that I had promised someone for Christmas. Now they will have to be a Valentine's present. Ha

  4. It's always good to have magic recommended by friends! I'm glad it's working for you. The rest is probably doing you good, too, although I understand about missing meetings. I hate it, too. Two more scarves AND a tea cosy? Well done you! I love your tea cosy...so sweet and feminine. Alpaca should keep your tea nice and hot.

  5. Glad you're finally on the mend. This year's illnesses have been awful. My daughter was up most of the night with a fever and pains so it's an at-home day for both of us now as well.

  9. Love your tea cup warmer, how cute.;) Sorry to hear that you are still not well, but great that you found the right drug, I love when that happens.;) I do not think anyone enjoys being sick, I too hate it and it takes me often 10 days before I recover from a flue.;) My husband on the contrary is alway sick only 24h, I have never seen anything like this. He sure behaves like a baby and it feels like he is suffering every second of every hour in that day, but then after a full 24h has passed, he is ready to go.;)
Have a great weekend and hope you get completely recovered soon,
    xoxo

  10. Sorry to hear that you've been through the mill with illness. Having felt grotty myself all week, I really empathise.
Love your tea cosy. I quite like the one flower on it. Don't know what I'd do with out my cups of tea and my knitting! (Knitting prem hats & cot blankets for charity!)

What a lovely little tea cozy!
I vote for just the way it is. I like the simplicity and letting that pretty teapot get the attention. :)

  13. I'd love to know the American equivalent for that sinus med! Sorry you have not been feeling well! I hope things get better soon. Tea cozies are rarely seen in my part of the world :).
