Ruby Tuesday

Here's another photo that I took in Dublin city centre recently.

This pub has been there for as long as I've been in Dublin , and that's a long time! It's a traditional pub off Grafton Street, not at all like some of the new "superpubs" that sprang up a few years ago.

I wonder what they're doing to celebrate Guinness 250 next month?

  1. It looks like an old pub...but maybe it's just made to look old. Red suits it!

  2. There's a lot of red in Dublin, isn't there? I remember this pub. Free Guiness for all on the birthday sounds good. I think they could manage that given the loyal drinkers in the city.

  5. I like the modern world on one side of the intersection and the old world on the other. It makes my heart happy for some reason.

  8. I was in Ireland on holiday a few weeks ago. We were in Dublin just for the day. Is this pub near Bewley's? It looks sort of familiar. Of course, we flew in to Dublin airport at 5:00 in the morning and spent only the first part of the day there before we drove out.

  9. Thanks for all your comments- much appreciated, big thrill for me to see 9 comments! It's like my birthdays have all come at once!

Re the pub, it is an old one, family owned, very near Grafton St., the main shopping street, and Hip Chick rightly spotted, near Bewleys. There's a tiny street at the side of Bewleys, and it's at the end of that.
Stephanie, what a fantastic idea re free Guinness for all-that would be some party!
